  • How long have you been a photographer?
I have been a photographer since 2013, after completing a four-year vocational degree in Photography in the Netherlands. I have always been dedicated to improving my skills, learning new things and developing my unique style.
  • What is your photography style?
I would describe my photography style as genuine, warm and natural. During the session I like to keep things relaxed, but fun, focussing on capturing real moments.
  • Where can I find your prices?
You can find my prices on the info pages. To view my photo packages for photoshoots, go to Info > Photoshoots and scroll down to the bottom of the page- or simply click here :-) For interior and real estate photography, visit Info > Interior / Real Estate and scroll to the bottom of the page- or click here :-) For enquiries about weddings, events, or business photography, please email me at wildtulip.photo@gmail.com
  • Can you speak Afrikaans?
Net 'n bietjie! Ek is Dutch, so ek kan dit verstaan, maar ek is nie so baie confident om dit te praat nie. Die sentence sal miskien doormekaar wees of een bietjie oppikoppie. :-) Yes, so let's say I can understand about 85% of it. If you're not very confident in speaking English, please feel free to speak Afrikaans to me. I will do my best to respond in Afrikaans (it might lead to some naturally funny pictures), otherwise, I will just reply to you in English. If your wedding is in Afrikaans, don't worry! I have no problem understanding the ceremony and will know exactly what is happening, making sure I capture all the important shots.
  • Do you travel?
Sure! I don't mind traveling at all and love to explore new areas. The Gansbaai area (De Kelders - Franskraal) is free of travel costs. For locations outside of that area, there is a fee of R4.00 per kilometer for a return trip.
  • What are your contact details?
You can reach me via email at wildtulip.photo@gmail.com . I do not have a business WhatsApp number, as I prefer to keep all communication through email for a clear overview. I am always available by e-mail and will do my best to reply to you within 24 hours. If needed, I can provide my private number in case you will need to reach me on the day of the shoot.
  • We're not very comfortable in front of the camera, can you guide us through it?
Absolutely! I completely understand that not everyone is a fan of being photographed. During our photo session I am there to keep things fun and relaxed to create genuine and spontaneous moments. I know being in front of the camera can be a bit scary, so we will make things a bit easier by giving you instructions and things to do, while simply enjoying the time with each other and taking in the nature around us.
  • What should we wear?
The most important thing is that you stay true to yourself. Always wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident. But I am happy to give you some advice! For the best results with my photography and editing style, I recommend choosing earthy and natural colours, mixed and matched within the same colour scheme. My advice is to stay away from big logos and bright patterns, as they can be distracting and may cause colour reflection on your skin. However, if you love bright dresses or bold outfits, don’t hesitate to wear them! You must be yourself and we will make it shine. I’m always here for advice and happy to help you choose the perfect balanced look.
  • How do we book a session?
You can book your shoot by contacting me via e-mail. You can find my photo packages and prices at the bottom of this page. Take a look to see which package suits you best and feel free to send an email to wildtulip.photo@gmail.com to book your shoot. Your booking is confirmed after completing my booking form and making a 50% retainer payment. For bookings scheduled within a 7-day timeframe, a full payment will be required.
  • What if the weather is not great?
If the weather gods have decided to give us rain, we can either dance in it like in the movies, or we find a different day together and reschedule our shoot :-)
  • My husband/wife/kids hates photographs, what now?
Yep, we’ve all been there sometimes, I understand! :-) As I mentioned, I'll try my very best to keep things fun and relaxed for everyone. With a little give and take, along with the right sense of humour about the situation, I’m sure we’ll be able to capture great photographs regardless.
  • My animal is a bit anxious. Can you still take good photos?
Of course, we’ll make sure your pet is comfortable and relaxed. I believe it’s very important that it should be a positive experience for your pet, so I'm happy to take breaks as needed. I am a fond animal lover, experienced with nervous animals. We may need to adjust our location so that everyone feels comfortable and there won't be too many distractions or triggers.
  • What is the online gallery?
When the photographs are ready, you'll receive access to a temporary online gallery with the edited images from your session. In this gallery, you can select your favourite photographs to receive. There will be more photos in the gallery than what's included in your package, so you will have a generous selection to choose from. Having a hard time choosing? You can select additional photos in your online gallery for just R50 per extra image. Alternatively, you can purchase the entire gallery for a discounted rate.
  • What will you be editing?
I love how a photo can truly come to life with the right touches! Over the years I’ve developed my editing workflow and I really love the editing process. I like to keep things natural, I believe that a photo should be a good photo from the start. My focus is on colour correction and balancing lights and shadows. As you can see I have a preference for warm tones, which is why we typically shoot around sunset. During the editing process, I will enhance the romantic feel of the sunset. But even on cloudy days we can still create lovely bright photographs, as clouds are great for providing beautiful soft light. I also remove any distracting people in the background and perform light, natural skin retouching while keeping it realistic. If you have any additional editing requests, I’d be happy to assist where I can. Please note that there will be an hourly editing rate for extra work.
  • Do you provide unedited photographs?
I don’t provide unedited photos, as my focus is on delivering high-quality images that reflect my style and name. But please don’t worry, you can fully trust that the photos are carefully selected by me and I will make sure you receive a lovely selection of the best moments from your shoot to choose from. There's no need to show any unflattering shots where your eyes are closed, half open, or where you might be talking.
  • When do we receive the images?
You will receive a small sneak peek from your session within a couple of days. The remaining images will be ready within 2–3 weeks*. However, if you need them sooner, you can request a priority editing service. With this option, your shoot will be moved to the top of my editing queue, and you'll receive the photographs within a week. The priority editing service comes with an additional fee of R 500. *Please note that the delivery time for weddings is different.
  • How do you deliver the final images?
After you have made your selection in your online gallery, I will receive a list of the photos of your choice. You will then receive a download link so you can download your high-resolution photographs.
